Coming from a conservative family, I never imagined stepping outside my
village, let alone representing my work on big platforms. Managing daily
expenses and raising four children was a constant challenge. Everything
changed when Cairn introduced the Jiji Bai Self-Help Group. Along with nine
other women, I received training in making millet cookies and we learned
branding, marketing, costing, and teamwork, which turned us into confident
micro-entrepreneurs. Thanks to Cairn, I got the opportunity to attend
national events, meeting ministers and leaders which gave me the confidence
to break free from the age-old stereotypes. Earlier, bajra was only used to
make rotis. Now, we have developed products like bajra cookies, namkeens,
and more. Today, I earn 4,000–5,000 every month, and together, our group has
earned 2.5 lakh in the past year.
