About Cairn Foundation
Cairn Oil and Gas, a vertical of Vedanta Limited is one of the largest exploration and
production companies in India, contributing ~25 percent of India's domestic crude oil
production. The company is
committed to conduct all its business activities in a socially responsible, ethical, and
environmentally friendly
manner while continuously working towards improving the Human Development Index (HDI) of people
in its
operational areas in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, and New Delhi.
Cairn Foundation, a registered not-for-profit society under the Haryana Registration & Regulation
of Societies Act, 2012 serves as the governing body that executes the CSR initiatives. The
primary purpose of the organization is to serve the development needs of the communities around
Cairn's operational areas in India.
The community development programmes implemented by Cairn Foundation through state or non-state
partner agencies, cover various thematic areas including child well-being and education,
agriculture & animal husbandry, women empowerment, healthcare, provision of drinking water &
sanitation facilities, community infrastructure development, skill development and sports etc.
In the financial year 22-23 alone, we have touched the lives of close to 4.5 crore people through comprehensive CSR initiatives, surpassing a spend of Rs.16.20 Crore.
