Borchapori Handloom Center, Assam

Launched in March 2024, the Borchapori Handloom Centre in Golaghat, Assam, under Cairn’s Micro Level Interventions, is revitalising traditional Assamese weaving while empowering rural women. In partnership with ASRLM, the District Handloom Department, and Ramdhenu Village Organisation, the centre supports 21 Self-Help Groups, offering training, enterprise development, and market access. By blending heritage with modern techniques, it is building sustainable livelihoods and resilient communities.
