Maru Udaan

Cairn has been at the forefront of women’s empowerment in Rajasthan, beginning with initiatives like Nirogi Rajasthan and Project Bharosa, and now scaling impact through Maru Udaan—a flagship six-month campaign launched on November 13, 2024, in partnership with the Barmer District Administration under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. Expanded to Jaipur in January 2025, Maru Udaan focuses on health, safety, skills, and entrepreneurship for women. With strong multi-stakeholder partnerships, the campaign has empowered 3,500+ women across 12 blocks, delivering high-impact interventions in mental health, financial literacy, nutrition, entrepreneurship, and livelihood development—paving the way for self-reliant and gender-equal communities.

Jiji Bai Self Help Group

Under Cairn’s Barmer Unnati Project, Jiji Bai Self-Help Group (SHG) of 10 women from Kawas, Barmer, has transformed into a successful millet cookie enterprise. Trained in production, packaging, and marketing, the women—fondly called Jijis—have showcased their products at prestigious events across India, gaining recognition from investors, ministries, and global audiences. Since its launch in June 2024, the SHG has crossed ₹3 lakh+ earnings by March 2025, secured 150+ kg confirmed orders nationally and internationally, and built a community of 1 lakh+ millet cookie lovers. The initiative is both a business success and a social milestone, empowering women to step beyond social barriers and embrace entrepreneurship.
