Support to District Hospital project

To improve medical facilities in government hospitals and ensure first-class hygiene standards, two major interventions were initiated in the District Hospital, Barmer –
1st -Deploying a cleaning staff of 62 members to ensure round the clock, the best and most hygienic cleaning practices across the hospital.
2nd -Appointing and stationing specialist doctors including an ENT specialist; a general surgeon and a dentist at Community Health Centre (CHC), Baytu, Barmer.

Project Navkiran -

With the aim of transforming public health systems and achieving greater adoption of safe, timely and effective practices of handling pregnancy and newborn complications, Cairn, in partnership with National Health Mission and Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare (Rajasthan), has initiated an intervention to operationalize all dysfunctional First Referral Units (FRUs) in the District of Barmer.

Under this initiative, Cairn has joined hands with District Administration of Barmer to fight against malnutrition and anemia cases amongst adolescent girls and children. In this one-year long initiative, Cairn is the information and knowledge partners, providing financial assistance, guidance, planning and manpower support.

Project Harit Dhara

A step towards sustainable menstrual hygiene and community empowerment. Launched on August 21, 2023, by Ms. Priya Agarwal and Mr. Akarsh Hebbar, Project Harit Dhara is a revolutionary initiative in Barmer aimed at providing eco-friendly, sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions while breaking societal stigma around menstruation. This first-of-its-kind community-driven project fosters awareness and acceptance, ensuring healthier menstrual practices.

In just six months, the initiative has actively engaged over 2,000 women and adolescent girls through community meetings, and more than 5,000 women have benefited from menstrual well-being sessions. A two-day training workshop on cloth pad making was organized for rural women, leading to the establishment of a small-scale enterprise with 30 women generating sustainable income since September 2023.
